The bolt features a mere 54deg lift and is locked into place with 9 lugs for ultimate strength. The heavy barrel is fluted, topped with the essential muzzle brake, and finished in FDE Cerakote like the action and bolt. The composite Monte Carlo stock has tailored ergonomics, a Pachmayr recoil pad, and is finished with a web pattern. On top, the scope is a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 8.5-25×50 with tactical turret system and illuminated SFP reticle. It’s a superb piece of optical equipment. The sale includes the rifle’s original factory spec sheet with the sub-MOA group it shot on test, plus handbooks. ROSSI PUMA LEVER-ACTION, .44 MAGNUM. Built on the Winchester Model 1892 action, these Rossis are a real step back to the Wild West. Available with choices of 16″ or 20″ barrel, in either blued or stainless steel. In .44 Magnum it’s an awesome pig gun, especially in scrub country. The 20in model has a 10-round magazine, the 16in version carries 8 rounds. Both are very light. It’s very traditional too, with crescent butt, narrow stock, top eject and open sights. RUGER AMERICAN, 450 BUSHMASTER. Chambered in the hard-hitting 450 Bushmaster, this Ruger American has a lightweight Go Wild camo stock but a muzzle brake to counter the recoil of the big cartridge. The burnt bronze barrel and action look terrific and blend into the bush surprisingly well. The rifle includes a rail for scope mounting, good recoil pad, and 3-round magazine. We can’t think of a more affordable way into a big-calibre, good quality hunting rifle.

RUGER AMERICAN RANCH RIFLE, 450 BUSHMASTER. Talk about a great scrub gun! Another Ruger is 450 Bushmaster, this one’s fitted with a nice, short 16-inch barrel with a muzzle brake to tame recoil of this lightweight 2.5kg rifle. It has a three-round box magazine, piccatinny rail for scope mounting. It’s a more affordable alternative to the Model 77-based Scout rifle with more modern styling and features. Seriously hard-hitting and a lot of fun.

The Model 1895G has richly blued steel.
